Swedish Beach and barbeque!

Today me, my mum and Jair went to Näset in Gothenburg. It was a wonderful Sunday with perfect weather! Later, Emil (my brother) came back from Norway and had barbeque with us! Really nice!

Sunbathing on my balcony today!!!

I just love my balcony! I've never had a balcony before so I never knew how wonderful it is! I live at the top and the balcony is insight protected from the sides so I don't even need to worry about what to wear! I can even sunbathe topless without anyone having an opinion about it!

Don't forget to protect your lips in the sun!

I recommend this one!! It both smells and tastes good! Jair can't stop kissing me when I use it!

Something you didn't know about me 3#

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I faint very easy...  Sometimes I simply forget to take a breath of air and pass out. It doesn't only happen when I suddenly stand up, but also sometimes when I run and especially when I drink. For example when I have my mouth full of water/juice/beer/whatever, it's like I don't have time to take a breath that I obviously needed and then I pass out.

The last time was in Brazil when I was on a large and expensive party during the Carnival, I took a sip of my beer and passed out. When I woke up, it was like I had taken a powernap, I was feeling really great!

Sushi at Eriksberg is a must on Fridays!

Enjoying the summer on my beautiful balcony!

When I got home, my wonderful boyfriend had already fixed "uma loira bem gelada" (literally = a blondy really cold, Brazilian slang = a really cold beer) and "camarão Alho e Óleo" (garlic fried shrimps)! YUMMY! I really enjoyed the sun,  the shrimps,  the beer and my wonderful exotic boyfriend!

Wanted! Who has decorated the streets of Gothenburg with these "wise" words?

Who do you call, when it is the police you are scared of?

Who the hell can afford "clean flour in the bag"?
Which means in Swedish: "Who the hell can afford to earn money honestly?"

Wise words or not? What do you think? Take a side! I want to know what you think!

Something you didn't know about me #2

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I received a challenge from Eva in Athens a long time ago. Thank you Eva! Now, I'll finally do it! Three things you did not know about me ...
  1. I was a real teenybopper as a teenager! And I was a bit cocky, but always (almost always) kind to my wonderful mother!
  2. I would think it was really fun to learn belly dancing, but I'm too shy ....
  3. I was secretly in love with Gunde Svan when I was just a child... He was sooo nice looking at the "Fångarna på fortet"! (Ugh huh embarrassing, I can not believe that I just admitted that here in the blog!)
I couldn't find any pic of my as a teenager. But I can share a pic my 18 years birthday!

And the wedding?

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Some of you ask me how is it going with the wedding plans.... The answer is that we've put it on ice. It became hard to save money when only one of us have a job. It has not been easy to find a job for Jair. He just get extra jobs and he works once a week more or less... It's a very difficult situation with jobs for young people in Sweden right now, my brother even had to go to Norway to work because he couldn't find any job here.

The plan is to postpone the wedding and start to save money when Jair has a job. So after we've been in Brazil from December to January and talked to the hotel/restaurant that will host the wedding, we will take a new decision on the date of the wedding. Until then, we live our lives and enjoying every day together!

Woken up from winter coma! Now CRETE!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Now I've finally woken up from my winter coma! I apologize for that! I hope my dear readers will come back! I have been working a lot, too much, so I have not managed more than to lie on the couch when I come home since February.

To compensate for all overtime hours and late nights at my job, I've booked a well deserved trip to Greece! More specifically to Crete!! *Excited* I will actually go next week already!

I wasn't satisfied with only 1 week in Crete in the summer so we have also booked 8 days in Portugal and 10 days in Italy in August! We will go directly from Portugal to Italy, so it will be almost "around Europe" this summer hehe!

I have also taken time off, 4 weeks to go to Brazil in December - January! Wonderful!!

ROBBER - side effect of too much TV

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Just now, when I was outside the dentist, I got really scared! There was a man outside who looked a little bit nervous when a car started behind him. He walked with one arm inside his jacket's inner pocket and just when I were going to walk past him, he pulled out his arm very quickly. I was convinced it was a gun or knife and got very scared. I didn't even want to look what it was, but it was probably just his phone... I hope!! Haha!! I'm watching too much TV! I just hope he isn't there when I'm going back out! Scary!

Questions & Answers

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I've started to get some questions, sometimes in emails and sometimes as comments. I think it's great that you readers are asking questions and stuff. I will try to answer!

One of my readers asked:

I was just curious.... Is your boyfriend black?? I know alot of Brazilians (even the "white" ones) have alot of african ancestory and he looks to be mixed? No big deal just curious...?

My answer: My boyfriend, Jair, is probably what you mean by mixed ... His skin gets very white in the winter here in Sweden but in summer it gets a chocolate brown color! I have also been thinking of the same thing, whether he has african ancestory or not... Actually 80% of everyone from Salvador (also the "white" ones) has African origins and my boyfriend has typically african afro. I would think that he has African origin even though both his parents didn't come from Salvador, but beyond that we don't know so much about his ancestors...

Jair's nickname in Brazil is Ghost - or Fantasma in Portuguese. He got the nickname where he grew up because he had so white skin. In the last picture here below you can see why...!

Started to knit again :P

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I decided to begin to knit again. I think it's a fun plus it is good to have something to do when you're sitting in front of tv. I have the bad habit that I always want to eat something when I watch movies or television. So I have some tricks to get rid of my bad habit. A while ago I ate salted sunflower seeds where the shellwas one so I had to peel each seed and that took forever to do but my need to eat something was still satisfied. Unfortunately, I'm tired of them now so I was thinking about going back to knitting again.

The good thing about knitting is that then you have no time to eat something! Today, I have managed to produce this little piece in this picture ... But that's just a sample to see how the mask density is when I'm knitting + a bit of practice because it was so long time ago.

Lovely color of yarn I have chosen, don't you think?! I'm going to knit baby stuff it's fun because it goes faster! Or faster anyway ... I'm not pregnant or anything, I just think it's more fun :)

I will continue tomorrow! Good night!

All those New Year's resolutions, when will you give up!?!?!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Finally home after a spinning and a core class at the gym! Sitting here thinking of wonderful summer time. This picture is of me and Jair in Italy last summer.

I'm lucky that booked the spinning and core class for today last Monday! Obviously, every girl in Gothenburg has made a New Year's resolution about working out more in the gym, so now it's hard to fit into the classes!! When will you give up? No offense, but I think it's pretty nice to fit on my favorite classes even if I don't book the classes 8 days in advance! Now I have to book the boring classes to avoid being placed at number 50 on the reserve list on a class with 50 participants or go to the gym 20 minutes before to get one Dropin ticket (it will be the later alternative for the rest of the week). Guess I'll have to wear it out. My experience says that the most people give up their New Year's resolutions after 2 max 3 months :D hehe!

My favourite combination with Kesella!!

My favourite combination with kesella is with apple and cinnamon!! Much tastier then with blueberry and raspberry!!! Yummy, I'm already waiting for the afternoon snack!

Yummy cottage cheese pancakes!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Cottage cheese pancakes!! I have eaten them at breakfast and as a afternoon snack the last week! At work, I eat them either with apple pieces fried in cinnamon or I mix onions and mustard into the cottage cheese before frying them and then I eat them together with magnifico-salami (which seems to be the only ham / salami, which is sugarfree). At home, I eat them sometimes with blueberries, raspberries and whipped vanilla cream! Yummy!

Here's my recipe (4 portions):

2 eggs
1 small box of cottage cheese
1 tablespoon fiberhusk (flor made of psyllium) you can put half coup of cheese instead if you don't have fiberhusk.

The picture is taken from Gröna Nyanser
Mix the batter to make it smooth before frying. Fry them for quite some time on the first page before you can turn them around.

Can add that pancakes don't taste like cottage cheese at all! So if you don't like cottage cheese, you have to try!

This week's result!!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

The result after my first week with LCHF! Things have gone well, not much craving for sweets... just a little bit today ... But I've also made two exceptions, so it may be because of that. On Tuesday we went to the movies and then I ate popcorn and Thursday I ate a half sandwich at work (bought especially for me). But I got results which is the point. I have lost 1.7 kg! Can you believe it! Just by changing the diet without exercising! In the picture below you can see my weight curve since last October! Last Sunday, I weighed 67.5 kg. But I'll start exercising again!!

Today it has been two years with my honey!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I can not believe that it has been he and me for two years now! But two wonderful years has already passed and many more will come! I'm as in love today as I was when I met Jair! I just can't wish for a more wonderful guy, he's the best!!

We met in Salvador at a bar around 2 am. He was so exotic, so I was immediately curious! He had braids in his hair braided zig-zag, surf clothing and he was very brown! And he was a surf instructor ... Mmm, yummy... I thought! He was everything that I thought was exciting but I also thought was a little bit scary. When he told me he lived in a favela (ghetto), I thought he lied to me. But the next day, I went to his house and met his family. It was really scary, exciting and fun at the same time. I remember sitting and talking with Jair's mom about snow in Sweden because it was the only words I knew in Portuguese while I heard Jair singing in the shower!

That was the only time that Jair sang in the shower so I was for sure very special....!!

I can tell you more another time because now we will celebrate our two-years-aniversare by going to the movies!

Gorgonzola stuffed burgers - LCHF I love!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Now it's time for my first LCHF dinner! Jair is cooking as usual!

Our dinner will be gorgonzola stuffed burgers in cream sauce with baked vegetables such as broccoli, peppers, zucchini and onions. I have gotten the picture and the recipe below from a lovely food blog that I started to read. Click here to go to the blog (in Swedish)!

Photo och recipe comes from Anna Jacobsson
500 g minced meat
2 egg yolks
1/2 dl cream (the fattest alternative)
100 g gorgonzola
Salt and black pepper

Mix salt with the meat and 2 egg yolks (we forgot them but it was perfect anyway). Make burgers around a big piece of gorgonzola in the middle. If you don't like gorgonzola, you can replace it with Parmesan (at least my fiancé did that)! When the burgers are cooked. Make a sauce of the dripping which is left in the pan after frying. Add cream and the rest of the gorgonzola (if there is any left).

Now let's eat! I could never imagine that a diet can be as tasty as this one, I think that is why it is called pleasure diet!

My LCHF-shelf in the fridge!

False start of the LCHF-diet

I jump the gun this morning and started with the LCHF food one day early. I thought it would be good to try out some of the LCHF food today. Breakfast is the tricky thing in LCHF! So today I'm going to try some alternatives so that I know what to eat this week.

Today I ate some Kesella with blueberries and raspberries for Breakfast. Berries are not really LCHF food but very good for the body so think I'll eat it anyway. Not a lot, not very often, but once a week at least.

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Did you know that you can't get groceries with LCHF-diet and recipies delivered directly to your house??? Me neither! They deliver both to Stockholm and Gothenburg. Their little bag of groceries is 549 SEK for one week and then there is enough food for 2 people for 5 days!

Of course, I ordered it to try. I think this is a really good way to get started and get ideas for some nice food! To get to their website, click here!

LCHF pros and cons!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I haven't gotten cold feet yet, but it is good to get prepared for the change! Right now, I just think that it's exciting, a nice challenge! Here are my pros and cons.

I can eat a lot of:                           I can't eat:

+ Fat (that taste goood…)                - Candy, Chips… (of course I can't eat)
++ Meat                                            - Fruits
+ Fish                                                - Flour
+ Chicken                                          - Potato, pasta, rice
+++ Cheese, Cambozola, cheese!!        -Bread :(
+ Egg                                                - Under earth vegetables
+ Fat sauces
+ Avocado
+ Mushrooms
+ Vegetables which grows up earth
+ Dark chocolate is ok
+ Red wine is ok
- Cream is good but scary

The scariest thing is that you should eat fat! That feels very strange! I have avoided fat in all these years and now I'm supposed to start to eat it! The plate model has scared me! Fat provides fat! But is it so that it is carbohydrates that provide fat? I'll try one month anyway!

By the LCHF-diet is Swedish!!

The plate model was a scam!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Just before Christmas, I worked out like crazy for about 6-8 weeks, but I only lost 1 kg... that's neither motivating nor fun? My body is incredibly slow ... I know! I always knew that! All previous times when I have lost weight, I have only been eating salad or soup. Because it's simply and quick to prepare and doesn't taste like shit after having it in the microwave (because you don't even microwave salad).

But now I do not cook or eat salad anymore and I can't eat soup every day! And I have the luxury to have a fantastic chef in the kitchen so I don't need cook to!

Now I want to try something new! I want try what everyone's talking about! LCHF! Low Carb High Fat. Everyone says it's good, everyone I know who have tried. My sister eats it too! And it is a proven method! Before LCHF there where to other methods, GI and Atkins, which is almost the same thing.

I'll start on Monday! This week I will clean the fridge - at least one shelf to be LCHF products!

In the middle of the diet jungle, I'm still wondering... What happened to the plate model??? Was it just a scam??? A constant nagging from housecraft teacher with no basis????

Seriously, is there anyone who can remember how to eat according to the housecraft teacher if you wanted to lose weight?

If you really want to know the truth of the plate model ... then you can check out this post "The plate model cause cancer" (in Swedish) which a LCHF girl has written.

Against all odds!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Do not miss the fantastic program "Against all odds" (in Swedish), which began last Tuesday. The second episode was on TV today! It really touched my heart and I couldn't stop watching! I was planning to write in my blog but I could not stop watching. My grandmother told me about the program but I thought at first that it wasn't anything for me, but it was really interesting. It is available on SVT Play for those who missed the first two episodes.

The program is about 10 disabled people who will walk from Viktioriafallen in Zambia to the Skeleton Coast of Nambi. It's a tough journey with dangerous wild animals such as elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, black mamba, etc.

Here are the participants. Several of the participants have amputated legs and arms, some have serious visual impairment, one has massive burn damages... It's amazing that they can make this trip! It is really against all odds! Read more about the participants here.

Below are two apetizers of the program... These people's stories were really touched my heart!

Lena - split into two parts in an accident with a truck

Lena also has a blogg, click here!

Leif had to amputate both legs and arms, because of blood poisoning

I can't even imagine how much their lives have changed. I really admire them, they're so strong!

Dentist on my five fingers...!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Yes, I can actually count on my five fingers how many times I have been to the dentist this year .. I have been there exactly five times! And I'm going there again! One more time! Can you imagine, it has just been one month this year and I have already been there 5 times!! Three times about the wisdom tooth and two times to the dental regulation to put a retainer that will keep my teeth in place.

The only problem is that when I were there today, the retainer they made didn't fit. It was due to a misunderstanding between the dentist and the manufacturers of retainer (the thread that will be fitted behind my teeth). So now I must go back there on Valentine's Day again to put a new one.

Even though it did not fit, they fixed it pretty far down so I have to be careful when I chew, so I do not bite it off. Basically, can not really chew at all.... But I don't think I've ever been this happy for a stupid thread that has been fitted badly in my mouth! Because tonight, I don't need to sleep with a stupid uncomfortable brace!

Egg and farofa!!! Yummy!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

It is really delicious! I could never imagine that! Farofa is a kind of flour made from Manioc (a kind of root vegetable). Brazilians like to use it to make the food more dry. They're not so fond of food with a lot of sauce. If it is a lot of sauce, they will add some flour so that the food get really dry!

I've never been a big fan of farofa, but eggs and farofa is actually really good! By the way, farofan is imported from Brazil!

Dexter - evening entertainment!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

My dad has been nagging that we should start watching Dexter. Both me and Jair like TV-shows. When we like a TV-show, we watch until we have seen all the episodes. Therefore we watch one TV-show at the time! So first we watched all the episodes of Flashback (only one season so that went fast). Then we started with Ghost Whisperer, then we watched all the episodes of Medium. The funny thing is that in Ghost Whisperer they always drank red wine so we did that too. In  Medium they drank beer, so we did that too... Yes, we definitley got affected...!!!

Now we have started to watch Dexter... The seasons are pretty short so as we have already reached the final episode of season 3 and it's really exciting! A little bit psycho, but exciting and good! But in this case we do not want to be affected and take after or so...! Dexter's a serial killer!

iPhone just died!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Last night when Jair were using his iPhone it just died all sudden and refused to start again. Jair was in a bad mood the rest of the night!

So today I called the support and they told me to hold the home button and start button at the same time for a while and then the Apple logo should appear on the phone and it did! Then I just needed to connect the iPhone to a computer and it started to work again!

So now Jair is normal again - he finally recovered from this horrible experience!

I asked support if she knew why it happened like this. She didn't know but it is apparently quite common among iphones.

Something you didn't know about me #1

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I have recently read quite a lot of other blogs and picked up a popular post that a lot of bloggers write. Well, to reveal a secret about oneself now and then ... So I was going to start today!

So here's my first revelation!

When, I am not working, studying or bloging, I play The Sims! I've done that since I was 12 years old when the first game came out in 2000! The first day I played The Sims was also the very first time I got the mens! Hehe!

The paradise island where we're getting married!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

As many of you already know, me and Jair are planning a beach wedding on the paradise island, Morro de São Paulo, just outside Salvador in Brazil. Maybe now is the time to tell you what kind of island Morro de São Paulo really is.

None of the Swedish travel agencies has this stunning island in their directories. For many Europeans, this island is the hidden pearl in the Atlantic. It's one of this paradises that you only see in movies. The island has no cars (except from a garbage truck) and the streets are made of sand.

Taxi at Morro de São Paulo is used mainly for the luggage - but also for a few drunk tourists in the night...
Along the streets there are a lot of small craft shops which are very nice to visit in the evening. For those who are hungry, there are a lot of nice restaurants that serves perfectly cooked lobster. Fish, is a specialty in this parts of Brazil. On the island there is also a fairly wide selection of nightclubs.

Roads are made of sand
The island is quite frequently visited by tourists, but mainly tourists from Israel, Australia and Spain who have discovered this amazing holiday paradise. The island has several beautiful beaches, some of them are even completely deserted. When the boat from Salvador are entering the dock at Morro, the first thing you see is a fort, it feels almost like one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies could have been set here.

The fort's gate which you have to pass to enter the island
A trip here suits for those who want to relax on the beach and those who want to stroll in the shops at night. The island has a very mixed range of entertainment and therefore suits both young and old. For those who want to see a bit more culture, you can also go to the Salvador, which was Brazil's first capital, and visit the famous district of Pelourinho.

Me in Pelourinho
On the island there are some hotels, but no high-rise hotels, instead they are more designed as bungalows. There are also a lot of cheaper hostels for those who do not want to spend so much on their homes.

Some pictures from the hotel that eventually will arrange our wedding!
Today, there is no charter trips to this amazing island. The Swedes who come to the island have been planned and bought the boat ticket and everything else themselves. To get the most out of the trip here, you should go during the Swedish winter when it is summer in Brazil.

The trip to Salvador from Sweden take approximately 24 hours and you need to change planes three times, then take the trip to Morro de Sao Paulo about two hours by boat.

Shrimps served in a coconut!!

Now you know a little bit more about this amazing island! I'm looking forward so much to this wedding!
