Oh Mr Sandman why have you abandoned me?

I have big day tomorrow, I'm going to start at my new job. So I just can't sleep.
Mr. Sandman is John Blund in Swedish by the way. The name Cames from the fact that he comes to spread sand in our sleepy eyes and the proof of that he exist is the sand that we can feel in our eyes when we wake up in the morning.
I would like to have some sand in my eyes right now! I know he was here because someone next to me is snoring loudly! Please, Mr Sandman come back!

Jair & air complainer

Jair and his dear air complainer
Of some reason Jair has confused the word "vacuum cleaner" with "air complainer". When he realized that he got it all wrong, he just said, but I like to call it air complainer. Really, this word would maybe fit for ours because it is making way to much noise! Maybe even the air would complain if it could... :)

Natural paint made of tomato sauce

We nowadays own only orange kitchen utilities, the paint is naturally made from tomato sauce and gently applied with spraying technique from the washing machine. The color has a life time guarantee, which means that you will never experience any fading of the color (or get rid of it!)!

Short summary of my year

Sorry for not writing for such a long time...

Short summary of my life since I went back to Sweden:

I got a job. I went to Italy. Ate a lot of antipasto. Visit Rome. Drank some wine. Came back. Moved to Gothenburg. Jair started school. I studied way too much. I got a new job. Jair got a job. Jair got a second job. => 2012 is going to be a good year

My life is starting to get normal again. As I said I studied way too much and now I'm tired but as I have been between two jobs I had the luck that I got to be home for two weeks. So since then I have been going to the gym every day (trying to get rid of the Brazilian kilos that I got there... only 4.5 this time though)... And I have finally had time to meet my wonderful friends and especially one that I haven't been seeing for a really long time!

Anyway, I hope that I know will get a normal velocity of my life! And this time I will keep in touch with you my shiny new blog!

All this went in ultraspeed in less than one month! Can you imagine?

Comer a vontade - Eat as much as you want

Brazil has a lot of restaurant which offer something that is lika a buffé, but you sit at your table and the waiter bring the food for your table. The best with this kind of restaurants is that you can eat as much as you want!!! Two days ago, me and Jair went to one of this restaurants which served 8 different cooked shrimps! The food was amazing!!

Unfortunately for me I think I got food-poisoned... The last night my stomach started to hurt, but it can be something I ate yesterday too, probably more likely... :(

Travel facts!

Salvador and Rio de Janeiro, probably Olinda too is crazy during the carnival! I can just say BE CAREFUL! Don’t be even close to the “pipoca”. The pipoca is the people that are standing “outside” party looking when the trucks pass by. This people don’t have enough money to buy a T-shirt and join the party so they participate by looking at the carnival. In the pipoca there is always people that are there for get some money by robbing tourists (even Brazilians!)! As I said before DON’T go close to the pipoca! By the way, it’s called Pipoca (popcorn) because look like popcorn from the side because they are jumping up and down on the same spot!

Carnival is crazy, DON’T carry your camera if you can’t afford to lose it (only in the camarote). DON’T have pockets on you shorts, even if you’re not carrying anything it’s not very pleasant when you have someone’s hands around your private parts. If you’re a girl DO use shorts in the bloco, otherwise you will for sure have some people’s hands between your legs during the time in the bloco, not so nice! DON’T bring your passport or other documents if you don’t need too (there is a law for Brazilians to bring but nobody do – I don’t know the law about this for tourists but wouldn’t bring my passport anywhere during carnival). During the six days of carnival 1100 documents was found! So I just wonder how many was lost totally????

Don't miss!

When you are in Bahia there are some dishes that you simply can’t miss out on! In Bahia there are some dishes that only do exist in Bahia. The food have African influence from the times when Africans where slaves for the Portuguese here in Brazil. One of these dishes is Moqueca!

I strongly recommend Moqueca de Camarão which is Moqueca made with shrimps, coconut milk, azeite de dênde (which is some kind of red oil which comes from a palm tree) and pimenta (which is chili in portuguese). Moqueca can also be made with fish instead, then it’s called Moqueca de Peixe. MMmmmm… it’s soooo good!

I know I haven't been writing for a while...

I know that I haven't been writing for a while... very bad because I don't intend to stop writing, not even after leaving Brazil (which is in just three weeks by the way).

But blogger have to take the whole blame for this! It's boring to blog without pictures and until now I haven't been able to upload any picture and that SUCKS! I had to log on to Picasa webalbum and upload my pictures there and than pass them for my blog!

That makes me just wanna do this:

YES! Bloco Carnival 2011

We were only planning to do two things during the carnival so weren’t really planning to go to Bloco Yes! Anyway we decided to go but Emil didn’t have more money for buying a T-shirt so all our friends cut of a piece from their T-shirt to make one for Emil. Emil didn’t believe that it was going to work but Leo convinced him! A woman in a store put the T-shirt together, but you could see that it was fake long way… Anyway Emil managed to stay inside without get thrown out for the whole time and he only paid R$10 which is 40 kr or 4 euro for a T-shirt that we paid R$250 (1000 kr or 100 euro) awesome!!! The funniest was that after the bloco finished and we were heading back to the bar someone stole Emil’s totally fake T-shirt! How can that happen!?!
