Sunbathing on my balcony today!!!

I just love my balcony! I've never had a balcony before so I never knew how wonderful it is! I live at the top and the balcony is insight protected from the sides so I don't even need to worry about what to wear! I can even sunbathe topless without anyone having an opinion about it!

Don't forget to protect your lips in the sun!

When I got home, my wonderful boyfriend had already fixed "uma loira bem gelada" (literally = a blondy really cold, Brazilian slang = a really cold beer) and "camarão Alho e Óleo" (garlic fried shrimps)! YUMMY! I really enjoyed the sun,  the shrimps,  the beer and my wonderful exotic boyfriend!

Something you didn't know about me #2

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I received a challenge from Eva in Athens a long time ago. Thank you Eva! Now, I'll finally do it! Three things you did not know about me ...
  1. I was a real teenybopper as a teenager! And I was a bit cocky, but always (almost always) kind to my wonderful mother!
  2. I would think it was really fun to learn belly dancing, but I'm too shy ....
  3. I was secretly in love with Gunde Svan when I was just a child... He was sooo nice looking at the "Fångarna på fortet"! (Ugh huh embarrassing, I can not believe that I just admitted that here in the blog!)
I couldn't find any pic of my as a teenager. But I can share a pic my 18 years birthday!

The plate model was a scam!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Just before Christmas, I worked out like crazy for about 6-8 weeks, but I only lost 1 kg... that's neither motivating nor fun? My body is incredibly slow ... I know! I always knew that! All previous times when I have lost weight, I have only been eating salad or soup. Because it's simply and quick to prepare and doesn't taste like shit after having it in the microwave (because you don't even microwave salad).

But now I do not cook or eat salad anymore and I can't eat soup every day! And I have the luxury to have a fantastic chef in the kitchen so I don't need cook to!

Now I want to try something new! I want try what everyone's talking about! LCHF! Low Carb High Fat. Everyone says it's good, everyone I know who have tried. My sister eats it too! And it is a proven method! Before LCHF there where to other methods, GI and Atkins, which is almost the same thing.

I'll start on Monday! This week I will clean the fridge - at least one shelf to be LCHF products!

In the middle of the diet jungle, I'm still wondering... What happened to the plate model??? Was it just a scam??? A constant nagging from housecraft teacher with no basis????

Seriously, is there anyone who can remember how to eat according to the housecraft teacher if you wanted to lose weight?

If you really want to know the truth of the plate model ... then you can check out this post "The plate model cause cancer" (in Swedish) which a LCHF girl has written.

Against all odds!!

Do not miss the fantastic program "Against all odds" (in Swedish), which began last Tuesday. The second episode was on TV today! It really touched my heart and I couldn't stop watching! I was planning to write in my blog but I could not stop watching. My grandmother told me about the program but I thought at first that it wasn't anything for me, but it was really interesting. It is available on SVT Play for those who missed the first two episodes.

The program is about 10 disabled people who will walk from Viktioriafallen in Zambia to the Skeleton Coast of Nambi. It's a tough journey with dangerous wild animals such as elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, black mamba, etc.

Here are the participants. Several of the participants have amputated legs and arms, some have serious visual impairment, one has massive burn damages... It's amazing that they can make this trip! It is really against all odds! Read more about the participants here.

Below are two apetizers of the program... These people's stories were really touched my heart!

Lena - split into two parts in an accident with a truck

Lena also has a blogg, click here!

Leif had to amputate both legs and arms, because of blood poisoning

I can't even imagine how much their lives have changed. I really admire them, they're so strong!

Dentist on my five fingers...!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Yes, I can actually count on my five fingers how many times I have been to the dentist this year .. I have been there exactly five times! And I'm going there again! One more time! Can you imagine, it has just been one month this year and I have already been there 5 times!! Three times about the wisdom tooth and two times to the dental regulation to put a retainer that will keep my teeth in place.

The only problem is that when I were there today, the retainer they made didn't fit. It was due to a misunderstanding between the dentist and the manufacturers of retainer (the thread that will be fitted behind my teeth). So now I must go back there on Valentine's Day again to put a new one.

Even though it did not fit, they fixed it pretty far down so I have to be careful when I chew, so I do not bite it off. Basically, can not really chew at all.... But I don't think I've ever been this happy for a stupid thread that has been fitted badly in my mouth! Because tonight, I don't need to sleep with a stupid uncomfortable brace!

Egg and farofa!!! Yummy!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

It is really delicious! I could never imagine that! Farofa is a kind of flour made from Manioc (a kind of root vegetable). Brazilians like to use it to make the food more dry. They're not so fond of food with a lot of sauce. If it is a lot of sauce, they will add some flour so that the food get really dry!

I've never been a big fan of farofa, but eggs and farofa is actually really good! By the way, farofan is imported from Brazil!

Something you didn't know about me #1

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

I have recently read quite a lot of other blogs and picked up a popular post that a lot of bloggers write. Well, to reveal a secret about oneself now and then ... So I was going to start today!

So here's my first revelation!

When, I am not working, studying or bloging, I play The Sims! I've done that since I was 12 years old when the first game came out in 2000! The first day I played The Sims was also the very first time I got the mens! Hehe!

The paradise island where we're getting married!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

As many of you already know, me and Jair are planning a beach wedding on the paradise island, Morro de São Paulo, just outside Salvador in Brazil. Maybe now is the time to tell you what kind of island Morro de São Paulo really is.

None of the Swedish travel agencies has this stunning island in their directories. For many Europeans, this island is the hidden pearl in the Atlantic. It's one of this paradises that you only see in movies. The island has no cars (except from a garbage truck) and the streets are made of sand.

Taxi at Morro de São Paulo is used mainly for the luggage - but also for a few drunk tourists in the night...
Along the streets there are a lot of small craft shops which are very nice to visit in the evening. For those who are hungry, there are a lot of nice restaurants that serves perfectly cooked lobster. Fish, is a specialty in this parts of Brazil. On the island there is also a fairly wide selection of nightclubs.

Roads are made of sand
The island is quite frequently visited by tourists, but mainly tourists from Israel, Australia and Spain who have discovered this amazing holiday paradise. The island has several beautiful beaches, some of them are even completely deserted. When the boat from Salvador are entering the dock at Morro, the first thing you see is a fort, it feels almost like one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies could have been set here.

The fort's gate which you have to pass to enter the island
A trip here suits for those who want to relax on the beach and those who want to stroll in the shops at night. The island has a very mixed range of entertainment and therefore suits both young and old. For those who want to see a bit more culture, you can also go to the Salvador, which was Brazil's first capital, and visit the famous district of Pelourinho.

Me in Pelourinho
On the island there are some hotels, but no high-rise hotels, instead they are more designed as bungalows. There are also a lot of cheaper hostels for those who do not want to spend so much on their homes.

Some pictures from the hotel that eventually will arrange our wedding!
Today, there is no charter trips to this amazing island. The Swedes who come to the island have been planned and bought the boat ticket and everything else themselves. To get the most out of the trip here, you should go during the Swedish winter when it is summer in Brazil.

The trip to Salvador from Sweden take approximately 24 hours and you need to change planes three times, then take the trip to Morro de Sao Paulo about two hours by boat.

Shrimps served in a coconut!!

Now you know a little bit more about this amazing island! I'm looking forward so much to this wedding!

Right now in Gothenburg!!

Hot feet - needed!!

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Check, out what I found! An ad! Naahh, not just an ad! This slippers're wonderful! I always have cold feet! Sometimes when I have cold feet, it doesn't help to put on socks or slippers, because then the socks/slippers works like a thermos... No heat comes out, but most concerning, no heat is coming IN! Therefore, I have to warm my feet before I put on my socks/slippers. Does anyone else have this problem?

Can't believe that nobody has had this idea before! Making slippers that you can warm up in the Microwave that's awesome!!

Horrible fruit!! Or not...?

Vill du läsa det här på svenska? Klicka här!

Fruit, isn't that pretty good?! In Swedish fruit is "frukt" and the word horrible is "fruktansvärt". Do you get it? Frukt-ansvärt!! Does it make any sense? Where does this word come from?? Were the stone age people afraid of fruits?

We Swedes have such incredible imagination. Just look at the Swedish word "grönsak", which means vegetable or litterary it means "green thing". Varnings! That word is too much like the Norweigans (Swedes always make jokes about the Norweigans). For example Swedes like to make jokes that the word for banana in Norweigan is "gule böj" which means "yellow bend". I wonder what the person who came up with the word grönsak was thinking. Like: " Hmm, I found a green thing, I'll call it green thing from now on!!! Note: Even if it is a red tomato, it's still a green thing!!!

I was sitting here in my living room looking at some party dresses online and then I started thinking about something I actually noiticed a long time. All of you who buy clothes on Nelly.se, have you thought about this girl who is in these pictures here below, she always, always, ALWAYS has her face in this direction when she is being photographed!

I also have a photo pose, but a model? Shouldn't she be a little more flexible than that? I wonder what she is hiding on the other side of her face....!!

By the way...

I feel better now... I think I will go back to work tomorrow! So now it's bedtime!
