Ele e eu
PARA SEMPRE
This is the thief that stole my heart that I told you about earlier…
SALVADOR!!!
Salvador is really my favorite place in Brazil. I think I was born there in my life before… I have said for a long time that I was probably a Brazilian girl in my last life and know I finally know where I was living also.
I had very easy to adapt to Brazil, I love the way the people are and I want to be just like them, and I think I am like them more or less… I love the Portuguese language; I’m passionate about it… I can’t dance samba, but not all Brazilian girls can do that… But all Brazilian girls can shake… and me too!!! Not a lot of Swedish girls like to do that… and a clear sign is that I have a typical Brazilian butt… haha!! When I started on Atlas Copco the girls there told me that my butt doesn’t look European at all… and it looks like that no matter how thin I get!!
Why do I think I was born in Salvador?? Hmm… yes that is easy. First when I was in São Paulo I realized that everyone was so well dressed… I like to be well-dressed too… But I also like to have short dresses and skirts and that I just not alright to wear in SP… in Salvador I just fit right in!! Amazing!!
And something else, I think I was poor in my last life… I mean I’m just so fascinated about the poor areas, I think the houses even look beautiful even though they are soooo poor. I don’t feel like home in the nice apartments and with the rich people, but in the favela and with the poor people I feel at home and comfortable!!! Isn’t that crazy?!?!
So in Salvador, I had a great time! And I can just thank my beautiful boyfriend for that! Jair, meu namorado!!!
The first night in Salvador we went out and I got to meet some of Jair’s friends one of them was this funny guy, that makes hats of coconut palmtrees!!!
He had one hat for every one of us!!!

Jair also get a lot of attention in Salvador, not every day… But when he take of his braids and let his afro go… He has the biggest afro I have ever seen in my life!!! And the coolest thing about it, is that it is all blonde in the top because of the sun, without color or anything!! The blonde hair in the top has the exact same color as my hair!! COOOOL!! I admit that I don’t like the afro very much, but I just love to touch it… haha!! Jair loves the attention he gets haha!!!
People on the street laugh, call for him, admire his afro and also they drop comments like “Did she find him at the zoo or what?!?!” Jair just loves this!!! I could never imagine that he would get so much attention just because of his afro!!
You can probably imagine how it looks like when we are walking together at the street… He with the biggest afro ever and me with the blondest hair!!!! NO, people are not looking… they are STARING!!!
It looks pretty funny in the morning... when all the hair is standing right up... haha!!
To walk into the Favela where Jair lives the first times was a little bit nervous, not because I was scared or anything (I’m brave… haha), but because everyone was staring. The first times I went in there the girls immediately started to talk to each other about me, Jair translated what he heard them saying when we passed them on the street. Comments like: “I have never seen a girl with that white hair before” (in Brazil my hair is called white… haha!!) And that my hair is beautiful. On the beach a little girl called for me and told Jair that I look like Barbie!!! Haha, so now Jair call me Barbie girl… I don’t mind that I love Barbie ;)
The favela where Jair lives...
... you need strong legs to walk here...

Jair works as a surf instructor, next time in Brazil he will teach me :)
In the favela it seems like everyone has a nickname… One guy is called Big (but he’s not very big), another is called Farmácia (I asked if he knew a lot about medicine, but I didn’t get any answer for that). I really cute boy… maybe 4 years old is called Shark, everyone calls him that but Jair didn’t know why. Jair’s nickname is Fantasma, which means “ghost”… Pretty cool nickname, huh!?! He got it because he was so white before he got his nice tan ;) He is still very white where the shorts have been – the same color as me actually!!
Here is the ghost!!
Almost every day me and Jair had Açai for breakfast. A fruit that has a lot of calories (that I don’t need by the way…) but which is very very healty. If you eat it in the morning you can go almost the whole day without eating anything… just have some dinner on the evening. It is very nice because they mix it and it taste like a sweet ice-cream which is very nice when it is sooooo hot all the time.
We also had crabs a couple of days and one time we had mussels that looked more like gastropods, it was very good!!!
Looks disgusting, but it was delicious :)
Something else that is very very healty, full of minerals and antioxidants and which is very good for your skin is coconutwater so I had a couple of those every day!! I love them it tastes soooo good!!!
Me with a giant coconut!!! Mmmmmm... jummy!!!
Jair is also an excellent cook, he made pasta one day and another day he made…
… a traditional Salvador dish…
Moqueca de camarão e peixe
Something with shrimps and fish...
maybe it doesn’t look very good, but it was delicious!!!
The first two weeks it was beach, beach, beach… so nice!! I just loved it!!!
Gansta-chick!!
Jair' sister Janini made my nails on both hands and feet, very beautiful!!!
Jair with a really cool, very cute boy…
The boy said to Jair that he wanted a girlfriend like me!! Haha!! When Jair was away he came to flirt with me and when Jair was looking he kissed me on my back and run!!
So hot and nice water!!
Me under water… hmm…
I need to practice to be under water… I just floated up to the surface all the time… Actually, I don’t even think that I know how to dive any more or how to swim under water…
Jair and his bar…
Next post in the blog will be about the carnaval… :-)
