Filet of beef served on a mirror of red wine sauce with crispy potato wedges and asparagus
Is not an expert on food presentation, but the fillet of beef and the sauce was delicious!
Me and Jair had never cooked fillet of beef before, so we began by reading the beef-school (in Swedish) on Tasteline's website. The red wine sauce was surprisingly good! Jair exclaimed immediately that the sauce was the most delicious sauce that he had ever eaten! I agree with him it was delicious. Here's the recipe. It is taken from Marielle recipe blog (in Swedish):
Red wine, 6 portions
2 shallots
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
3 cups water
5 cups red wine
2 tablespoons veal stock
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons maizena
salt, black pepper
Chop the onion and fry in butter. Add sugar and pepper and cook until the sugar begins to turn brown. Add water, wine, veal stock, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Boil 15 minutes. Strain the sauce, if desired, to get it completely smooth and then rode off to the desired thickness.
